One Place, One Story: Perito Moreno Glacier

Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the world, spanning over 250 square kilometers and rising 74 meters above the surface of Lake Argentino. Unlike most glaciers, it is still advancing, a rare phenomenon that adds to its dynamic beauty. Named after the explorer Francisco Moreno, this glacier is part of the Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

For this session, I used my trusty Pentax K1000 with a Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm lens, capturing the glacier's majesty on two different films: Cinestill 400D and Kodak Portra 400. Each film brought out unique aspects of the scene, with Cinestill 400D highlighting the cool, cinematic tones and Kodak Portra 400 enhancing the natural warmth and depth. Through Chanitos's camera, I have captured the intricate textures and mesmerizing hues of the glacier, hoping to convey the serene yet powerful presence it commands. Each photograph tells a story of ice and time, of nature's relentless force and quiet elegance.
